Is this tool really free?
Yes. Every tool on this site is free, with no account or sign-up required.
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No. All processing happens in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
Can I edit the existing text in the PDF?
You can add new text, drawings and shapes on top of the page. The original PDF content itself is not changed.
A PDF stores text as positioned characters on a page, not as flowing paragraphs. That is why this tool adds text, drawings, highlights, and signatures on top of the page rather than reflowing the document. It is built for fast fixes: a corrected line, a filled blank, a note in the margin, a signature.
Adding a text box, highlighting a passage, drawing an arrow, signing. Your additions are saved into the file you download. What does not work well is rewriting whole paragraphs, because the original text will not move out of the way.
New text uses standard fonts, which may not match the original document exactly. For a document that must look perfect, edit the source file and export a fresh PDF instead. For everything else, a small visible difference beats retyping the whole document.
Can I change existing text?
You can add text over it, but the original text does not reflow the way it does in a word processor.
Will my additions stay in the file?
Yes. They are embedded into the PDF when you download it.
Can I sign with this tool?
Yes. Draw, type, or upload a signature, place it on the page, and download the signed file.
